Is my cargo insured during transport?

We operate under NSAB 2015 and our terms and conditions. This means that we are liable if cargo is damaged, lost or delayed during transport — but liability is limited under NSAB 2015.

Our liability as a carrier is not full cargo insurance. In the event of damage or loss, compensation is calculated based on the cargo’s weight — not its full value. In the event of delay, liability is also limited under NSAB 2015.

If your cargo is of high value, particularly vulnerable or requires full cover, separate cargo insurance must be taken out before booking.

How should the cargo be packaged?

The cargo must be properly packaged so it can withstand normal transport, handling and transshipment. The packaging must be suitable for the cargo’s weight, shape and contents.

As the sender, you are responsible for ensuring that the cargo is packed correctly. If you are unsure, we will be happy to advise on packaging and preparation.

Does the cargo need to be on a pallet?

It depends on the type of cargo and the mode of transport. Larger, heavy or unwieldy cargo must be placed on a pallet or otherwise prepared for safe handling.

This makes transport more efficient and reduces the risk of damage.
